A few more finished paintings done between 2015-2018

These are recent paintings that I was too lazy to post. I prefer painting to posting and sitting behind a screen, :-)

All work is for sale.
Each painting is an original and one of a kind. I do not make giclee prints of my work. Many of these paintings have been featured in my annual desk calendar and a few have been printed as notecards.

Please feel free to contact me for prices and sizes.
I'd love to share my work with you and give it a new home.

March & April 2017

We traveled to Portugal in Spring of 2017. The snow that year at home was 12 ft and the daily shoveling made us exhausted but buff.
I kept a travel journal/ sketch book and here are a few examples of my quick onsite watercolors. We loved Portugal, with the fabulous castles, wine and roasted suckling pig, friendly people, great new auto routes and inexpensive prices.

Fall on the Central California coast

My generous friends the Cavales, shared their central coast beach house with us this past  October.
We loved their cozy beach cottage in Cayucos that included the sound of the surf crashing on the beach.
While Jim golfed, I painted plein air in oils and finished 3 small pieces. They are framed in modern natural pine frames.
I can almost smell the salty moist sea air, can't you?

Fall Color in the Eastern Sierra

We have had a another beautiful fall season in the eastern Sierra. The aspen trees were magical. The leaves of brilliant yellow, gold and orange, were mesmerizing as they shimmering in the wind.
I wanted to paint everyday and was able to several times.
I tried to capture some of the magic and color, before the first snow and wind blew all the bright aspen leaves away.

A new avocation and a new blog

Thank you for visiting!

Since retiring from College of the Sequoias May 2013, I  have been pursuing full-time, my passion for making art. While waiting for my beloved fine art printing press to be moved up to my new mountain home, I have been painting plein air (outdoors) in both watercolor and oils. It's been exciting and challenging trying to capture the majestic beauty of eastern Sierra in both of these mediums. In creating this blog I hope to share my efforts with you. All the work shown here is for sale; please email me for prices.
On this blog I will feature oils, watercolors and limited edition etchings, relief and mono prints. Each piece will have dimensions and media listed.

HOUSE PORTRAITS

I also enjoy doing 'house portraits', a custom image of your home or castle. Here is one of our friend's Mediterranean style home, in Southern California, perched high on a hill. Commission welcome, please  have photos ready or invite me to visit and paint your home,en plein air and alla prima, aka on the spot.

And this is a house 'portrait' of our own home,  that we call Shangri la
